Patient Care Technician from Cambridge Institute of Allied Health & Technology is a Campus Certificate Clinical Nurse degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. The program objective is to prepare a student for employment as an entry level advanced cross -trained nursing assistant. The PCT program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills expanding the traditional role of the nursing assistant for acute and long -term care settings. The program is comprised of a sequence of instruction that includes a health science core, seven (7) occupational completion points, and one (1) program option. The completion points are Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, Phlebotomy Technician, EKG Aide, Allied Health Assistant, Patient Care Assistant, and Patient Care Technician. ?A program graduate is eligible to apply to the Florida Board of Nursing to take the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) examination upon completion of the Nursing Assistant portion of the program.
