International Law from California Western School of Law is a Campus Master Law degree that prepares you for a Legal career. In today's global economy, lawyers increasingly encounter transnational issues in their practice. The ability to address problems in this global environment requires a solid understanding of international law and an appreciation of political, cultural, and linguistic differences. The International Legal Studies Program offers an enriched J.D. curriculum in international and comparative law. Classes are taught by talented faculty with academic and practical experience. The classroom emphasis on theory and practice is complemented with curricular programs providing real-world experience. California Western participates in the Consortium for Innovative Legal Education (CILE), which enables students to attend summer programs at law schools in Malta, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. Students may also participate in semester abroad programs in New Zealand, the Netherlands, and other ABA-approved programs throughout the world. These programs enable students to study international or comparative law while earning credits toward their J.D. In addition, California Western offers a vibrant internship program, where students can receive course credit while receiving real-world experience. Students can intern at law firms, government agencies, international institutions, or nongovernmental organizations in the United States and throughout the world. Students interested in international law can pursue other opportunities. Students may be invited to join the California Western International Law Journal, which is one of the oldest international law journals in the country.
