Marketing from Butler University is a Campus Bachelor Marketing degree that prepares you for a Business career. Marketing is the most popular major in the College of Business. Basic areas of study include marketing management, marketing research, advertising and promotions, and sales. The marketing curriculum prepares students to think and act strategically as decision-makers. Marketing courses are hands-on and experiential, providing students with the opportunity to link theory to actual business practice. Among a variety of projects, advertising students assess and develop advertising campaigns for local non-profit agencies. The marketing club BAMA is an official collegiate chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) and provides students with practical marketing experience and networking opportunities. In spring 2005, BAMA won the Indy Apprentice (link to PDF of press release—on current site) contest, sponsored by the Indianapolis chapter of the AMA. Students completed a series of marketing tasks throughout the semester, beating out other local universities. As a result, one student was awarded an internship with MediaSauce, a local interactive marketing firm.
