Students are expected to give oral presentations of their independent research in: (1) professional meetings, (2) Spring Research Conferences, or (3) research group meetings. Achievement in oral presentation skills will be judged by independent faculty review and awards received by students for presentations. 4. Ethical conduct will be assessed through the student's practices in honestly and accurately reporting research results and in the attribution of credit for the work of others in written and oral presentations. 5. The primary measure of student achievement in conducting independent research is the capstone project report. Other indications of accomplishment include peer-reviewed scientific papers with student co-authors and student presentations at professional meetings. Indirect Measures 1.
