Veterinarian assistants/pre-vet technicians have a range of duties including, but not limited to: animal restraint, nursing care, radiology, routine lab procedures, blood collection,catheterization,dental cleanings, administration of vaccines, physical exams, client services, front office duties, general cleaning of exam rooms and kennels, CPR/First Aid, etc. This program will prepare students to work at veterinary clinics or to seek further education in the veterinary field. Employment Outlook: Recent surveys of local veterinary clinics indicate a need for well-trained veterinarian assistants who have had significant supervised clinical experience.
