Vocational Nursing from Brazosport College is a Campus Certificate Nursing Education degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. While Brazosport College is an open admissions institution, the Vocational Nursing Program requires separate admission and approval. Applicants are admitted to the program through a competitive selection process. To be considered for admission to the program, applicants must submit a completed application for admission to Brazosport College, and an application for admission to the Vocational Nursing program. All transcripts of previous college and high school work must be submitted to the college. Deadline for the submission of completed application packets is April 15. Applicants take the Nurse Entrance Test (NET) Form D at the Brazosport College Testing Center within four months of the application deadline. Applicants who submit completed application packets and are successful on the NET are contacted to schedule an interview with vocational nursing faculty. A committee of Brazosport College faculty and staff selects individuals from the applicant pool. Selected applicants must successfully complete Anatomy and Physiology for Allied Health (VNSG 1420) in the first summer semester prior to the start of the LVN program in August. A minimum grade of C is required to continue in the LVN program. Applicants with a grade of C or better in Anatomy and Physiology I & II (BIOL 2401 and 2402) are eligible to seek credit by exam for VNSG 1420.
