Biostatistics from Boston University is a Campus Master Biomedical degree that prepares you for a Science career. The MA program is intended primarily for the student with the equivalent of a B.A. who wishes to pursue advanced study in the theory and methods of biostatistics . To earn the MA degree , students are expected to complete 32 credit hours with grades of at least B- in every course. Coursework must include the following six biostatistics core courses (24 credits): -SPH EP 712 Epidemiologic Methods -CAS MA 684 Multivariate Analysis OR SPH BS 805 Intermediate Statistical -Computing and Applied Regression Analysis -SPH BS 852 Statistical Methods for Epidemiology -CLA MA 581 Probability -CLA MA 582 Mathematical Statistics -CLA MA 575 Applied Regression and Analysis of Variance. These core courses provide a theoretical background in biostatistics and the basic skills necessary for applications in public health. The remaining courses are selected from designated courses in biostatistics and epidemiology at the School of Public Health or the Graduate School Mathematics Department. In addition, the master's student must pass two comprehensive written examinations demonstrating proficiency in the material covered in the five core courses.
