The photography emphasis offers qualified students the opportunity to pursue personal directions in photography with a diverse and motivated faculty, both in and outside of the photography area. Along with a photo history and theory course, advanced study is available in black and white, color, digital imaging, and alternative processing. We are seeking students who wish to consider and explore all aesthetic and technical avenues to making photographic imagery, including the incorporation of media outside of photography. In conjunction with developing and refining a fluency with photographic materials and concepts and learning to think and speak about historical and contemporary photographic practices as they relate to a student's work, the production of a body of work that presents evidence of conceptual and technical integrity is fundamental to the goals of the program.
