Paramedic from Bismarck State College is a Campus Certificate Medical Emergency degree that prepares you for a Healthcare career. BSC offers a AAS degree in EMT Paramedic Technology . The Paramedic program is affiliated with St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck and F-M Ambulance Service in Fargo. Depending on the affiliation site, the program will begin either at the start of the spring, summer or fall semester. The program length will either be three or four semesters, depending on a predetermined need in the service area. Our goal is to ensure quality education and to prepare the students to become competent entry level EMT-Paramedic practitioners. The program with St. Alexius is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. The program prepares the student for the National Registry written and practical examinations. Clinical and field internship experiences will be completed concurrently with the classroom schedule. In Bismarck, inhospital clinical experiences will be completed at St. Alexius Medical Center and other approved hospitals in Dickinson, Mobridge, Williston, and Minot. The Fargo program has sites across North Dakota and Minnesota, including hospitals in Fargo, Devils Lake, Cavalier, and Grand Forks, N.D., and Bemidji, Brainerd, and metro Minneapolis, Minn. Other approved sites will serve as in-hospital clinical sites. Field Internship experiences for the Fargo program will be completed at F-M Ambulance in Fargo, Altru Ambulance in Grand Forks, North Memorial and Gold Cross Ambulance services in several Minnesota locations and at rural North Dakota and Minnesota services as needed.
