The mission of the M.A. Women's Ministries program is biblically centered education, scholarship, and service, equipping women for ministry to women in local church and parachurch contexts. Goals 1. Provide local churches and parachurch ministries with specialists in the field of women's ministries, who have built their counseling , administrative, and teaching skills upon a solid biblical and theological base. 2. Provide preparation, enrichment, equipping, and renewing ministries to women. 3. Prepare students for actual practice in women's ministries in local churches. Students will be prepared for such professional positions as Director of Women's Ministries or Associate Pastor of Christian Education while providing special emphasis in the area of women's concerns. Outcomes As a result of this program, the student will: 1. Develop empathic listening skills and have a commitment to use and teach these skills in life and ministry with women. 2. Develop awareness of their personal issues and be able to develop a personal network for growth. 3. Develop a commitment to sound ethical principles related to women's ministry. 4. Develop an awareness of their limitations and their ability to diagnose the pathology of individuals, couples, and families and know how and to whom to refer women to for needed help. 5. Develop an understanding of the psychology of women and women's concerns, the role of women with men in the church, gender roles in society, and lifespan development and be able to apply this knowledge in ministry contexts. 6. Develop skill in program development of pastoral ministry to women in a church or parachurch environment. 7. Develop the ability to take women from relationship through realization to responsibility in areas of their personal life. 8.
