The mission of the Baccalaureate Degree program in Entertainment Management with a concentration in Audio Production is to prepare students for careers in all aspects of the audio field, including digital music, studio recording, and live and location sound. Students will combine both foundational and advanced audio production course work with specialized entertainment industry courses, general business courses, and a strong general education component. Students will develop their critical and creative thinking skills as they study the technical, artistic and scientific perspectives of audio production in a variety of entertainment, corporate and entrepreneurial settings. Upon completing the Bachelor Degree in Entertainment Management the student will: * Recognize the entertainment industry as a socially networked, relationship driven entity and will demonstrate his or her skills in devising and executing self-originating entertainment industry opportunities. * Establish and demonstrate his or her skill sets in business disciplines interconnected with the entertainment field, including finance, accounting, & marketing. * Explore, synthesize and evaluate the various theories and various levels of management, best practices, and entertainment industry standards. * Identify, incorporate, and evaluate the role of technology and its use in managing and conducting business in an increasingly global and complex entertainment industry. * Analyze and assess demographic data as it relates to the different subfields of the entertainment industry, including targeting potential audiences for an entertainment production. * Demonstrate his or her critical thinking and assessment skills in analyzing issues that will bring challenges or changes to the entertainment industry in the 21st century, both domestically and globally. * Develop, refine and appraise his or her understanding of legal and ethical issues, rights and remedies as they relate to contemporary entertainment business practices.
