Teacher Leader in Mathematics Education from Bank Street College of Education is a Campus Master Teaching degree that prepares you for a Education career. This program has been designed for those who are excited to explore innovative ways of teaching math at the elementary school or middle school levels. This program is a Professional Certification program, just right for those with initial certification who hope to continue teaching in their own classrooms or who want to become math coaches and staff developers. Earn your master's degree in just over two years by completing course work during July sessions for three summers and graduating at the end of the third July. During the two intervening academic years, you≠ll return to your own classroom at your current school site, where a Bank Street College faculty advisor will work with you on your professional growth and development. Through collaboration with your Bank Street advisor and other graduate students, you will develop your skills as a teacher and math coach, modeling creative ways to engage children fully in mathematical reasoning. You will develop skills to help you and your fellow teachers collaborate on curriculum planning, instructional approaches, and new assessment strategies in mathematics . You will become a resource for other staff members within your school who are interested in increasing their skills in mathematics instruction.
