Studies in Education from Bank Street College of Education is a Campus Master Education Science degree that prepares you for a Education career. This program allows you to create an individualized course of study. There are two program options: The 42-credit program leading to a Master of Science in Education (M.S. Ed.) degree is for students who do not have a prior master's degree; the 36-credit program leading to a Master of Education (Ed. M.) degree is for students who hold a prior master's degree . Neither version leads to certification. Students in Studies in Education have pursued programs in areas such as writing for children, educational policy/advocacy, educational environments for children, or science education for elementary school children, to name only a few. All students in the program are required to take courses from four core areas. The remaining academic credits are taken in courses relevant to your particular interests, including courses at Bank Street College, with a maximum of six graduate credits transferred into the program from other institutions.
