Practical Nurse from Baker College of Fremont is a Campus Certificate Nursing Education degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. The vision of the Practical Nursing Program at Baker College is to prepare students to attain the necessary knowledge, attitudes, and skills which render them eligible to sit for and successfully pass the NCLEX-PN exam and to enter the profession of practical nursing. Through an approved program of study, faculty seek to prepare graduates with a Certificate in Practical Nursing who upon graduation will be eligible to take the licensure examination to become Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). Nursing students will be assisted to develop knowledge, attitudes, and skills essential to the practice of professional nursing through active, participatory and culturally diverse learning. The curriculum is designed to assist students to become critical thinkers and problem solvers with an appreciation for the moral, ethical, and cultural dimensions of the issues they confront in an ever-evolving health care system. Graduates of this program are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN licensing exam, which is a standard exam developed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
