Program Format: Campus Program Level: Certificate

ELL/C.L.A.D. from Azusa Pacific University is a Campus Certificate Literature degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. The California Commission for Teacher Credentialing requires that all teachers in California schools be prepared to teach English Language Learners. Candidates who begin a 2042 Credential Program will be certified with English Language Learner authorization by the end of the credential program (multiple- and single-subject). For those candidates seeking an Intern Credential for the 2007-08 school year, a mandatory English Learner Preparation Workshop must be completed before the Intern Credential can be granted. This EL Workshop requirement applies to Multiple-Subject, Single-Subject, and Special Education Intern Credentials. Contact your advisor for additional information. Candidates credentialed out of state (but within the USA) and those who hold a special education credential, find the C.L.A.D. Certificate ideal preparation for teaching English Language Learners. Those who hold a Ryan Credential and have been admitted to a credential program prior to July 1, 2002, may also earn the C.L.A.D. Certificate. However, candidates admitted to either a Ryan plus a 1059 English Learner Authorization Credential program (which began July 1, 2002) or to a 2042 Credential Program already have an English Language Learner Authorization and are not eligible for a C.L.A.D. Certificate . For information about C.L.A.D. Certificate eligibility, please contact a credential analyst. View more details on Azusa Pacific University .
