The sonographer uses technologically advanced equipment that utilizes high-frequency sound waves to produce dynamic visual pictures of internal body structures. The images are effectively evaluated by physicians to make a medical diagnosis. The DMS program provides the education of students to become sonographers that have an advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and pathophysiology. The entry-level sonographer performs appropriate abdominal, OB/GYN, small parts, pediatrics, and the imaging, color flow and Doppler. Formal education and extensive clinical training are combined in this two-year program. Graduates will be awarded Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography .
