Interdisciplinary Studies from ASU Online is a Online Bachelor Interdisciplinary Studies degree that prepares you for a Science career. The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree program teaches students to answer questions, solve problems and address contemporary social issues from multiple perspectives. Interdisciplinary students develop the intellectual tools needed to build bridges across academic disciplines and apply their skills, innovations and knowledge in various academic and practical settings. In core classes, students develop a portfolio that showcases each individual's skills, interests and talents. This portfolio and the applied learning experience provide each student with valuable resources for flexible, individualized career planning and development. Working with an advisor, students in the online B.I.S. will choose two concentrations from the following options: * Family and Human development * Film and Media Studies * History (U.S. or European track) * Justice Studies * Political Science * Religious Studies * Small Business * Sociology * Technical Writing * Women and Gender Studies Because of the flexibility of the BIS degree , BIS graduates leave ASU ready for their next steps in life, whether employment in an entry-level position, promotional opportunities, or graduate studies in a variety of disciplines. The BIS degree is available to all students in good academic standing with sophomore standing (25 credits or more).
