Nursing Upper Division Traditional BSN from Allen College is a Campus Bachelor Registered Nurse degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. The Upper Division Traditional BSN Option allows students to complete the nursing component of the program in five semesters of full-time study. All coursework required to earn the BSN degree can be completed (1) in five sequential academic semesters over two-and-one-half years or (2) in one summer session and four sequential semesters over two academic years. Students will be admitted (or be assured of admittance) to Allen College in the fall, spring and summer semesters after having completed a minimum number of prescribed general education credits and specified courses. Outstanding high school students and recent graduates can also be offered guaranteed admission to Allen College at a future date following successful completion of prescribed general education coursework. Students must complete a minimum of 124 semester hours of coursework to earn the degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Students must complete a minimum of 48 semester hours of general education coursework as outlined in the plan of study, including a minimum of 15 hours in the humanities, 15 hours in the social sciences, 18 hours in the natural sciences and mathematics, and 9 hours of general electives (including 3 hours of diversity). Students attend other regionally accredited colleges and universities to complete the general education component of the plan of study.
